Marc de Beaucorps : I imagine that you would know how to do it, but for the general public, making a false passport is not for everyone, so making a false invoice...
Jean-Paul Gagnon : Even if I know how to do it, I couldn't do it.
Marc de Beaucorps : By ethics?
Jean-Paul Gagnon : So, ethics first. In principle, already.
But then because, 15 or 20 years ago, when we were talking about documentary fraud, we had to apply absolute secrecy, because we did not have very secure documents. Now, standardized document manufacturers are developing very advanced technologies – some of which I find absolutely magnificent.
And so, a standardized document is ultimately a security cocktail that is so complex that, even if some people manage to acquire even a few of these technologies, they would not have the complete cocktail.
Me, at the limit, I know how to recognize the safeties. In training, I say: “give me a document from any country, I should find the reference.” Even though I don't have the repository, by analyzing the physical document, not the digital document, by looking at the constitution of the document, I can already estimate whether it is State or Industrial technology, or whether it is small-week manufacturing.
