The study, which surveyed 300 fraud managers from a range of companies, shows the impact of fraud on turnover. From invoice falsification to identity fraud, document fraud is a growing challenge that is prompting more and more businesses to strengthen their prevention strategies. Prioritising the fight against fraud

The study's figures are clear: 85 % of companies consider the fight against fraud to be one of their key priorities. three main priorities

The larger the company, the more seriously it takes the threat. 

Large structures, which generate a turnover of in excess of 50 million eurosoften allocate specific teams and resources fraud prevention.

Small businesses, with less than 50 employeesHowever, they are the most vulnerable. Only 60% of these companies are making the fight against fraud a priority, often due to a lack of resources or a dedicated internal structure.

Document fraud dominates 

Among the types of fraud encountered in companies, the most common is document fraud is the most common. It affects 65% for companies questioned!  

This form of fraud encompasses practices such as falsifying invoices, payslips, estimates and administrative certificates.

However, the behavioural fraud are not far behind. President fraud and phishing are close behind, with 60% of companies assigned. 

In last place, we find the identity fraud also known as KYC (Know Your Customer). They are linked to the handling of documents such as driving licences, passports or national identity cards. They concern almost 50% companies.

And which documents are the most falsified? 

Among the most falsified documents, companies find : 

  • THE identity documents (18.7%): These documents are the most frequently falsified in identity fraud. 
  • THE invoices (13%): Fraudsters often use invoices to access finance, obtain benefits or bypass credit checks.
  • THE pay slips (9.7%): Here too, fraudsters use these documents to gain access to more attractive financing. 

Anti-fraud software: an essential tool for countering risks

With the increase in document fraud, companies are investing in specialised tools

More than 70% for large companies (more than 100 employees) use several software packages to detect and prevent fraud.
